Welcome to the 2026-2027 season of the Play NC Fantasy Football League!
Join Play NC as we host a fantasy football league exclusive to members of the Durham Softball league! Find another reason and group of friends to hang out at Bralie’s after your softball games on Sundays by playing fantasy football! Proceeds benefit Play NC partners, with each team sharing their prize winnings with a different local charity.

- Entry Fee: $100 per team. $50 to prize pool, $50 to charity.
- Format: 16-Teams, 14 Regular Season Games, 8-Team Playoff

League Details:
- 16 Teams, $100 entry fee per team.
- 15-Week regular season + 3-Week playoff
- 50% to charity, 50% to prizes.
- $800 in total prizes, $400 to 1st Place.
- Weekly high score prizes.
- Regular Season prizes are matched to each team’s selected charity.
- League hosted using the free ESPN Fantasy Football platform.
- Live, in-person draft at Bralie’s during the NFL pre-season.
- Draft order determined randomly.
- Each team will also draft a Play NC charity to play for during the season, with that charity earning a matching prize.
- eg. Team A selects Meals on Wheels of Durham. If Team A wins $400, Meals on Wheels also wins $400.
- Charity selection will be inverse to draft order and take place before the draft.
- Eg. Team #16 drafts the 1st charity, Team #15 drafts the 2nd charity…until Team #1 drafts the 16th charity. Then, Team #1 starts the fantasy football draft with the 1st player selection.
Play for Charity!
As part of the draft, each Owner will also select one of Play NC’s partner charities to receive a matching prize. The team that receives the last pick in the fantasy draft will have the first selection in the “Charity Draft,” with each team choosing their preferred charity partner to share their matching season prize.
Draft Day
Bralie’s is generously sponsoring our draft and league, providing 5 pitchers of beer for the group and a platter of appetizers for free to league members during the draft. You’ll probably still spend some money on food and drinks, of course, but the first bit will be free. Bralie’s is also providing some free swag and gift cards for us to give out during the draft, so we’ll have a couple fun side games for some low stakes prizes.
We be hosting a live, in-person, snake draft, where all owners must either attend themselves or send a qualified representative in their place to draft their team. No remote drafts, lists, or absentee owners will be allowed.
Draft order will be determined by random draw about ~48 hours after we have sold out all teams in the league, so teams will have a chance to prepare for their draft slot, as needed.
Weekly Watch Party
One of the fun parts of playing Fantasy Football is watching the games with your league mates. To encourage plenty of interaction and improve the social aspects of the league, we will be organizing a weekly NFL watch party for league members every Sunday at Bralie’s for the 4pm set of games. Bralie’s will provide one free beer to all members of the league during the event and all 16 league members will be invited to join, so it should be a fun way to watch the games!
Roster and Scoring System
We will use standard, 16-player rosters, with a 1 QB system and the following starting lineup:
- 1 QB (3 Max)
- 2 RB (6 Max)
- 2 WR (6 Max)
- 1 TE (3 Max)
- 1 RB / WR / TE
- 1 DEF
- 8 Bench Spots
